ANIMAL AND NATURE POEMS
BIRDS
The keeping of birds is part of history
How many years no one can know.
Once the pet luxury of kings and queens
Or on the shoulders of pirates long ago.
The birds were not in the menu of human
Although anything can be tamed as a pet.
Chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys
Are served on tables that we set.
Noah sent a dove to find dry land
And he returned with an olive leaf from a branch.
God gave feathers for clothes
Thus, in the elements they have a chance.
The best way to enjoy wild birds
Is attracting near you.
Provide food, water, shrubs and trees
It's all a bird lover to do.
Birds are really quite remarkable
Left alone do their thing.
We have stolen their eggs and plucked their plumage
And yet they continue to sing.
MAN'S BEST FRIEND
The best friend of man is still his faithful dog
Who looks forward to his return.
Where is the man without his canine love
When his fellow man were left alone.
If a man was as good as your dog thinks
It would be more famous as a football star.
It's too bad our wives do not feel the same way
I guess its because they know we are.
The man is not afraid to love his dog for life
Even if it is man that usually buries his pet.
It does not matter whether large or small
What animal has loved man more, yet?
TREES
It is difficult to imagine our world without trees
But threatened by concrete and steel.
Thousands of products disappear soon
Change everything we see and feel.
No more playing with baseball bats wood
No more plums, pears, cherries or pie apple.
No more campfires to go around at night
And for pencils and books to say goodbye.
Trees are like people seed
Both drinks breathe and eat.
They feed, house and protect us
As they soften the look of their bloom.
Bigger and older than any living thing
Much more important then blue whale in the ocean.
Some grow 350 feet high,
Before victim of the nail.
BUTTERFLIES
Butterflies go through four stages of life
During the last they are able to fly.
Eggs and larvae, caterpillars change to
Transforming rainbows to fly to the sky.
Blue, black, green, yellow, brown, red, white and orange
Armed with a keen since of smell, taste and sight.
With predators like birds, bats, wasps and MA
They are never safe, even at night.
Butterflies are the illustration of the nature
Pursued by collectors with their net and pot.
Labeled and criticized for their storage and display
As new specimens are sought near and far.
The next time you see some kept behind glass
Remember, once they glorified air.
Their colors and grace generate Beauty
As in harmony, they share their radiation.
HUMMINGBIRD
The scent of roses, carnations and daisies
Draw for the hummingbird gardens so beautiful.
Evoking the essence of a Charm of Nature
As the brightness their feathers carousels air.
So gracious, they fly at the speed and direction
Creative products that dazzle the eyes.
A bright vision of the wonder of the world
Our most elusive visitor from the sky.
They are the smaller wing feathers of the small
Collection of their languages to the soft earth.
The strengthening of our lives by their mere existence
A temple of beauty, endurance, and value.
FLOWERS
My job is to open
And Lord, I love the work I do
For flowers my joie de vivre
While their beauty is yours.
Your flowers are so beautiful
However, I am ugly, wrinkled and old
I lived beyond my reach lethal
Throughout the day I left Unfold.
Your lilies are my pride of life
And many of them there.
They are worth a fortune, people say
Although money has little to me.
Their glory is my reward comes
As their radiant heads they raise.
I dedicate to thee, O Lord
With all my love and praise.
RAINY DAYS
Rainy days are a gift of life
As they water the thirsty earth.
When nature sometimes weeps with joy
As a father who watches a birth.
Rainbow-colored arc of the sky
Storms prepare to part
The sound of thunder shakes the ground
As the sky speaks to my heart.
When the storm filled the sky is dark and gray.
It was then that I aspire to fight.
Rainy days make some feel sad
But for me, I feel so alive.
GOD'S RAIN
Nature as man sometimes weeps with joy
As the raindrops fall and the living grow.
Soon there after rain, once besides
With spectra of primary colors that shine.
One day can not help being dark and gloomy
A common destiny was shared by all.
The earth needs rain to water it's thirsty
And in each life some moisture must lie.
Behind the storm clouds the sun still shines
So never give up when your sad heart.
What a crazy sailors curse pray for poor farmers
Cause without rain god lifetime left.
DAWN
The singers sing like Pink Skies Turn
While the brightest stars fade
One by one, I watch them disappear
As the sun gives birth the day.
The scent of dawn is so fresh
As the flowers are ready to bloom.
The sparks of dew on the grass
While the morning dissolves my gloom.
A flock of geese over the circle
Looking for a little rest and a meal.
I look land on a lake
As inside, how lucky I feel.
The moon is always high on his throne
As it orbits in the sky.
I know I'll love terrestrial aurora
Until the day in my grave, I lie.
TWILIGHT
Twilight sky turns orange, pink and gray
As stars look on the last day.
The night winds stir the breeze now
While most birds roost in trees.
The fireflies hovering above the grass
Like bullfrogs sing to torment the bass.
Soon the moon will around high
Under her cloak of sky filled with stars.
The twilight is first evening Bell
A time of peace when all okay.
Another day has come and gone
Not to return before dawn.
WINTER SNOW
Above the head of everyone I meet
Falls life giving winter snow.
On the roofs and streets
By filling the heavens and the earth below.
Dancing, swirling, skimming along
As the snows of yesteryear.
There are a lot of frost on the windows
As my eyelashes freeze tears.
It so cold, it's too cold to snow
However, the snow continues to fall.
The earth is covered white blanket
As the winter winds moan their appeal.
There is a red hot fire that awaits me
It will thaw my every part.
This is not the glow of a fireplace
But the love that lives in my heart.
FRUIT
In most all places where people live
Different types of fruits in the wild.
What primitive man met closely by plants
Long before Noah was a child.
The rest of apples, pears, cherries and sinkers
Have been found in Stone Age caves.
Grapes, olives, dates and figs
Were placed in tombs and graves.
Fruit is eaten fresh or canned
Dried by sunlight.
To be consumed during the long cold winter months
Till the snow would melt and the rivers run.
Columbus took seeds along its second trip
To plant and cultivate wherever they would grow.
To be plucked and devoured by human beings are hungry
Instead of getting the forest of the enemy.
The fruit of today come from many countries different
Although most will grow where the climate is right.
They are picked and delivered by truck plain, train or boat
To be enjoyed with delight.
ROSES
Three hundred years after the birth of Christ
Just south of Rome fertile land
Increased the sweetest queen of flowers
Roses grown by man.
The poet Horace once expressed
That roses amounted to more grain.
Seed fills the stomach of a hungry man
Where his heart pink food and brain.
Flourishing in ancient China
Grown by monks for two thousand years.
Roses symbolized man's passion
For envy, sadness, love and tears.
Nero spent fortunes on roses
Whose petals showered on guests
He wanted to learn his subjects
That roses were an emperor better.
So take Down Your shovels and plants
Place the roses around your house.
For their sweet scent and great beauty
Are from heaven to us on loan.
THE NIGHT SKY
Heaven night has a thousand eyes
When the skies of day have one.
Night's black mantle covers us all
With the creation of the sun.
He who goes out with a woman
Will the happiness of night.
Mixed with hugs and words of love
Their future together is bright.
Late at night when most are asleep
And the dream of another day
Those who watch the moon God
May say "thank you" as they pray.
So let us drink the wine of the night
And feast on the silence of the stars
While the Earth is bathed in holy light
And seen without its scars.
THE GARDENER
As the flowers pop out of the ground
And the birds begin to sing.
The cold north wind sleeps again
And a gardener knows that spring.
The daffodils are still in first
Sometimes before the snow decreases.
The tulips are coming to bloom
With red, yellow and pink.
Then come the purple iris
Whose scent makes men think of love.
With the sweet lilac
They give life is a novel thrust.
When I was young and stupid
I sowed my oats all around.
Now that I am old and married,
I plant seeds and bulbs in the ground.
Surrounded by flowers Humble House
Planting flowers around a humble house
As many as a big smile on a face together.
As these heavenly bodies aloft in the night
Adorning their brightness the darkness of space.
King Solomon spoke of flowers on Earth in the Bible
And where they appear the birds begin to sing.
The voices of love can be heard throughout the land
And lilies and roses are a sacred thing.
So Till up a little earth and be fruitful with seed
And now the flowers rise Earth again.
For the sweet scent of flowers fills the air
Fans fires of passion in women and men.
WHERE THE BIG ONES BITE
When I was young and before girls
I liked to go fishing on the River.
The streams and ponds where Alright
Anywhere that would deliver.
Fry four to five inches long
Are what trophies love to party on.
Trout line or pole made no difference
Bate and the fight was on.
Sometimes I had to find a fire
To help keep warm at night.
Spring, summer, autumn, I was eager to go
Wherever the Big Ones bite.
WINTER
The cold winds of winter play tunes with the trees
Though now they sound different when removed from their leaves.
Our warm days are gone and for spring we must wait
And all those requests in love it will not be too late.
The snow has piled on the roofs of the city
Since small birds hidden in the bushes, they found.
Everywhere, snowmen standing as guards
While children throw snowballs from forts in their yards.
Cold winter days are sad and often cruel
But their Difficulties are used by God as a tool.
His reasons for seasons fit his grand design
To strengthen the souls of both woman and man.
SIGNS OF SPRING
Signs of spring are for all to see
Let the world know that nature sleeps no more.
As she wakes from his nap long winter
Living shoots of life left to shoot.
The robin can be seen hunting for a meal
As the gentle breezes urge budding trees.
Soon will open with fragrant flowers bloom
Attracting the eyes of creatures and bees.
Gone next year, are winters cold days of chill
While the fever of love strikes the ground on the run.
There's heavenly splendor wherever we looked
As the earth is warmed by the sun.
SPRING TIME
Easter lilies are in full bloom
As young men think of love.
Women can feel passion within
As they see the nesting dove.
Spring suspends its flowers on trees
Although the foam of winter is dry and dead
As their sweet fragrance fills the air
Blades of grass looking up.
Spring will soon disappear with the pink
And the summer burn earth again.
Daughter of Heaven, the mother of all
Spring is loved by women and men.
FALL
As the cold autumn winds strip the trees
Sad days have arrived.
Most flowers, already are frosted brown
Although moms are the last to survive.
There are a lot of fog on the windows
Over the shorter days lose their light.
Year changed into its wine
When our days are the shadows of the night.
Flowers, butterflies, trees and bees
Are all gone dormant until spring.
The leaves rustle as children play
In the absence of birds singing.
The winter to spring, spring and summer
It is time for these symphonies fall.
All the leaves fall to the ground
As the wind plays tunes with the trees.
KATRINA
Katrina hit like an atomic bomb
Consuming helpless in its path.
The waters of the gulf arose
Flooding everything with their wrath.
The evil took advantage of the absence of law
While the brave risked their lives for others.
The best and worst has been seen by man
While many have become like brothers.
May heaven show mercy on what was lost
Not to love, laughter, hatred or sin.
May God bless every man, woman and child
May we never do again.
STARS
Stars of Heaven are the works of God
The writings of the night sky.
After the sunset glow golden-red
They are there to captivate the eye.
Nobody can see beneath their feet
As pearls from heaven inflame their souls.
To be as one with their creator
Is the largest targets of man.
Blessed are the candy of the night
That guide the sailors at sea
Swimming earth with their soft glow
For those who love them, like us!
THE MOON
For thousands of years man has asked
How the moon came into force.
As we look at its ghostly glow
One can not help but feel what we see.
King David watched his beloved, Bath Sheba
Same if bathed in moonlight, so bright.
He fell in love and had to possess
Then sent her husband to die in battle.
The moon itself has shown that they are lifeless
While it enhances the beauty of darkness.
The daily rise and fall of ocean waters
Followed the moon since before Noah's ark
From the very one the first time declined
And looked at the moon in the night.
Acts of love, desire, hatred and human suffering
Were committed in the presence of light.
I do not care if the man walked the moon
For most, it retains its mystic power
Then turn off the TV and go forward in the night
And share its beauty regardless of hour.
NEXT love men NEED FOR FISHING
Also men need love fishing
And for both, most are willing
Catching trophies chosen best
To be envied by others.
Fishing is a sport game
Loved by all, both high and short.
We need to trick the eye Fish
If we intend to stir and fry.
While some other boats use Wade
As they fish sun or shade.
Cold drinks help pass the day
Although life events fade.
Most men feel they have any
With their rod, hook, cork and string.
Whether river, pond or lake
We all pray our line will not break.
