Vintage Guild Electric Guitars
In modern times, electric guitars are more often associated with genres like rock and roll, blues rock and jazz. Vintage Guild Electric Guitars However, this instrument has its origins in the music big band of the 1930s and 1940s. As the jazz bands these days has increased and brass sections increased proportionately, the need for amplified guitar became more pronounced. Adolph Rickenbacher, George Beauchamp and Paul Barth, all of who eventually founded the Electro String Company, are generally credited with producing the first electric guitars around 1931. Whoever it is first, the end result was a pick-up guitar that converts the vibration of its Steel Strings into an electric current, which was stronger with an instrument amplifier and speaker.
As mentioned, the strings of an Electric Guitar are still steel. It is, however, one of the few characteristics shared by all the different types. Electric guitars come in a variety of models, including solid, hollow, wooden, metal, six, seven, eight, nine and twelve strings, and even Double Neck models.
The first of these, the type of Solid Body, is the most common. They are usually made of a sort of lacquered wood, which can be anything from maple to KOA in ebony. The average solid Body Electric guitar has six strings, and Vibrations of this type of guitar are produced by strings only. This is remarkable compared with the Hollow Body electric guitar. Although both types are operating Similarly, the body of the Guitar Hollow body vibrates with the strings, which means that the microphones convert both string and body vibrations in an electrical signal. A guitar semi-hollow body is a combination of solid and hollow types and is generally bound to strike a balance between the attributes of both. Then he is the metal body electric guitars. The bodies of these models are chambered (due to weight considerations), but they are designed to be played as if in Solid Wood. Finally, the electric guitar can sport one to twelve strings, which makes for, as one might imagine a plethora sounds and a potential musical applications.

Although there are a number of manufacturers of electric guitars in the world, some are certainly more famous than others. Fender and Gibson, for example, has established their reputation in the 1950s that those responsible for the mass of High Quality guitars, and they remain among the best-known products available. Other reputable companies include BC Rich, ESP and Peavey.
The electric guitar has gained some notoriety over the years through his association with a number of high-profile artists, including Chuck Berry, Jimi Hendrix, and the irrepressible Keith Richards. Interestingly, there was a movement in recent decades for the use of electric guitar in classical music contemporary. However, such compositions are far from common, types of rock and jazz remain the main territory of the electric guitar.

The Road Warrior [VHS] Used From: $2.99 Average Rating: ![]() |
|
A strong candidate for the designation of most thrilling action movie ever made (the turbo-charged exhilaration of its full-throttle highway chases has never been equaled), the second part of George Miller's post-apocalyptic trilogy is also a magnificently imagined movie myth. Like the Star Wars trilogy (by that other George) the Mad Max films draw their inspiration from the works of mythologist Joseph Campbell. In the 1979 original, Max (Mel Gibson) is a policeman, the last guardian of civilization and order in a devastated world reduced to chaos. But when a leather-clad gang of sadomasochistic speed demons mows down Max's family, his remaining connections to humanity are also permanently severed. After brutally exacting his revenge, Max wanders off into the wasteland alone, "a burned out shell of a man" who (to paraphrase The Searchers) is destined to wander forever between the winds. In The Road Warrior, Max rediscovers a sliver of his shattered humanity, and a spark of redemption, when he helps an embattled colony of pioneers fight off the savages who are after that most precious of all commodities: "guzzline." Max is transformed into a legendary hero, just as Mel Gibson was catapulted to international movie stardom. With its final stirring images, The Road Warrior transcends its genre (whatever that may be--science fiction? Western? action adventure?) and becomes something timeless. It's a great movie. --Jim Emerson |
